About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
There are close to a billion knowledge workers in the world, and only a small fraction of them have discovered what it feels like to work alongside AI that actually raises their game. Most people who could benefit from an AI collaborator haven't tried one yet, or tried once and didn't see what was possible. Closing that gap isn't a copywriting problem — it's a storytelling and enablement problem at a scale few companies have ever had to solve. That's what this role owns.
We're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own the foundational positioning and story for Claude's core knowledge-work products — Chat, Cowork, and the broader non-coding suite. Everything that helps a knowledge worker understand what's possible, and a buyer decide with confidence, runs through your work: the website, the pitch decks, the battlecards, the persona narratives. You're not just making the case that people should adopt AI — you're equipping the people who decide to buy it and showing the people who use it, at the scale of millions, exactly how to put it to work.
This is an individual-contributor role built for someone who wants to do deep, durable craft work on products with enormous, established usage. You'll write the positioning doc, build the battlecards, and ship the persona work yourself, and you'll use Claude and AI-native workflows to keep those foundations self-updating and trusted by every team that depends on them.
If you've owned the full product marketing stack for a large, widely-used, fast-evolving product, have building instincts for turning your own PMM workflows into systems rather than one-off documents, and want your writing to be the reason millions of people and the buyers who equip them finally understand what an AI collaborator can do, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
-
Define the story that gets millions of people to change how they work. Own and evolve the positioning and messaging house for Chat, Cowork, and Claude's core knowledge-work products, so every deck, campaign, and piece of content makes the same compelling case for what's possible.
-
Give sellers the conviction to close. Build and maintain the sales enablement assets — pitch decks, battlecards, objection handling — that turn a good product into deals won, arming GTM to sell with confidence rather than guesswork.
-
Equip buyers to make the call with confidence. Own the proof points, comparisons, and narratives that help economic buyers and champions justify the purchase and adoption decision internally, not just the end users who'll use the product day to day.
-
Make sure the message lands with the right person, in their language. Develop ICP and persona frameworks that translate a broad, varied base of knowledge workers and buyers into insights sharp enough to drive messaging and campaigns that actually resonate.
-
Make our inspiring story come to life. Own the website and product page messaging that's often someone's very first encounter with what Claude can do for their work — the moment that decides whether they lean in or bounce.
-
Turn scattered wins into a playbook others can run. Build libraries of top use cases by product and by function or persona, so the best examples of AI-augmented work aren't one-off stories, they're patterns anyone can copy.
-
Keep every team telling the same story, well. Partner closely with GTM, Marketing, and Partners so they're never working from stale or inconsistent materials.
-
"Claudify" our own foundations. Build AI-native systems, using Claude and beyond-chat workflows like Skills and automations, that keep positioning, messaging, personas, and enablement current and instantly trustworthy — proof, in how you work, of the same transformation you're asking millions of others to make.
-
Contribute to how we present plans, pricing, and analyst relations materials for the core knowledge-work portfolio as they intersect with your positioning and messaging work
You may be a good fit if you
-
Have proven experience owning positioning and messaging for an established software product used broadly across personas and use cases
-
Have strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and complexity across formats — pitch decks, web copy, battlecards, persona docs
-
Have experience building ICP and persona frameworks and translating research into messaging that scales across websites, collateral, campaigns, and content
-
Have experience building sales enablement assets and working directly with sales teams on objection handling and win/loss dynamics
-
Are comfortable operating autonomously as an IC, writing and shipping assets directly rather than through a team
-
Demonstrate systems thinking, and the ability to move fast and with conviction in an always-evolving environment
-
Are well-versed in using AI — namely Claude — to inform and automate product marketing workflows, and have built foundational systems that inform, update, and share PMM foundations with the stakeholders who depend on them
-
Have experience marketing AI or productivity software to a broad, cross-functional buyer base
Strong candidates may also have
-
Experience with analyst relations processes and reports (e.g., Gartner, Forrester)
-
Familiarity with plans and pricing presentation and packaging communication
-
Experience as a Senior PMM or PMM Lead at a productivity, collaboration, or knowledge-work software company with ownership of core-product positioning

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
