Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Stripe’s Ecosystem Partnerships team builds the partner ecosystem that helps users discover, adopt, and get more value from Stripe. We work with a broad range of technology, platform, and ecosystem partners, and collaborate closely with Partner Engineering, Product Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to bring Stripe’s products to market through partners.
What you’ll do
As a Partner Development Manager (PDM), you will help manage and grow a long tail of partners that make up the Stripe ecosystem. You will create and manage the programs, partner tiers, operating rhythms, and enablement needed to support partners at scale - not simply one relationship at a time.
You will help partners understand and adopt new Stripe primitives, product capabilities, and integration opportunities. You will turn partner feedback and market context into clear priorities, coordinate cross-functional work, and ensure that partner programs are effective, measurable, and easy to engage with.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building scalable programs, bringing structure to ambiguous work, and enabling many partners to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Manage a broad portfolio of ecosystem partners through scalable programs, tiers, communications, and operating mechanisms.
- Help design, launch, and operate partner programs that provide clear value to partners and advance Stripe’s ecosystem and product priorities.
- Create and maintain partner tiering, engagement models, program criteria, and lifecycle motions that make it easier to prioritize support and scale partner impact.
- Drive adoption of new Stripe primitives, product capabilities, and partner-facing initiatives across the ecosystem. Develop partner enablement plans and track adoption, engagement, and delivery against defined KPIs.
- Work closely with Partner Engineering to surface partner integration needs, identify recurring technical or product friction, coordinate enablement, and improve the partner integration experience.
- Work closely with Product Marketing to develop partner messaging, launches, education, and campaigns that help partners understand Stripe’s value proposition and take action.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market, Operations, PE&O, RPS, and other stakeholders to translate partner insights into clear workstreams, resolve blockers, and execute effectively.
- Track partner health, program performance, commitments, and delivery milestones. Use data and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities to improve program design, partner experience, and business impact.
- Support templated deals, renewals, and other well-defined commercial workstreams using established strategies and processes; escalate material changes, risks, and blockers through the appropriate operating model.
- Develop a strong understanding of the ecosystem, partner objectives and constraints, Stripe’s product capabilities, and relevant market developments. Share material insights and recommendations with internal stakeholders.
- Build productive relationships across Stripe and with partners, communicate clearly, and help align stakeholders with competing priorities around shared outcomes.
- Contribute to an inclusive, high-performing team culture and apply Stripe’s operating principles in day-to-day work.
Who you are
You are a thoughtful, execution-oriented partnerships professional who is energized by operating at scale. You enjoy building programs, defining tiers and operating models, and improving the systems that enable many partners to succeed. You can build context quickly, turn it into clear plans, and collaborate well across functions with different goals and perspectives.
You are equally comfortable engaging partners directly and identifying patterns across a portfolio. You exercise sound judgment within established frameworks, communicate proactively, and know when to seek input or escalate.
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- Experience in partnerships, business development, account management, strategic programs, go-to-market, or a comparable cross-functional role involving external stakeholders.
- Experience designing, operating, or improving scalable programs, partner tiers, lifecycle motions, or other systems that serve a broad portfolio of customers or partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, establish clear plans and milestones, and reliably deliver on commitments.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to build alignment with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Go-to-Market, and/or comparable functions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain product value, synthesize feedback, and keep internal and external stakeholders informed of material developments.
- Analytical and operational rigor: comfort defining and tracking KPIs, assessing program and partner health, identifying risks or blockers, and using data and structured judgment to improve outcomes.
- Ability to develop productive relationships with external partners and to balance partner needs with Stripe’s priorities and constraints.
- Interest in Stripe’s products, our users, and the ecosystem in which we operate.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with ecosystem, platform, technology, payments, financial-services, or SaaS partnerships.
- Experience driving adoption of new product capabilities, integrations, or platform primitives through partner enablement, education, or go-to-market programs.
- Experience working closely with partner-facing engineering, product, or product-marketing teams.
- Familiarity with partner integrations, commercial agreements, partner operations, or risk and compliance considerations in a regulated or complex environment.
