Your mission
The Brand Strategy Lead owns the quality, consistency and distinctiveness of GetYourGuide's brand, partnering closely with Analytics, Customer Insights, Product, and Supply to keep the brand coherent globally and relevant locally.
Please note this role is a individual contributor and will not be leading a team but leading and owning the brand frameworks and positioning.
What you’ll do
- Own the brand framework - narrative, positioning and USPs. Define what GetYourGuide stands for, what associations it is and is not building, and how the organisation reads progress against them.
- Know the market and the customer, globally and locally. Track competitive dynamics, category shifts, and how the Modern Explorer is changing, and turn genuine local differences into shared knowledge instead of market-specific narratives.
- Turn strategy into something the org can act on. Build the chain from barrier → narrative angle → proof points → recommended levers, and keep the messaging hierarchy and narrative repository current as the source of truth for what's in, out, and true.
- Make the brand a resource, not a gatekeeper. Package strategy so Product, Supply, Analytics, Customer Insights, and other teams can act on it directly, and bring narrative and CVP input into their roadmaps early enough to shape decisions.
- Contribute to, and where relevant own, brand programs that build proof points. Identify and help shape the research, partnerships, or flagship initiatives that generate real evidence for the narrative, working with Activation and other teams to bring them to life.
- Define how the org knows the brand is working. Own the brand health and equity measurement framework — the scorecard that shows whether the narrative is landing, not just whether it shipped.
You’ll be successful if you have
- Judgment and taste, the confidence to make narrative calls without a rulebook, and the discipline not to over-document strategy instead of deciding.
- Sharp analytical instincts, comfortable working with data and research directly, and skilled at turning market and customer understanding into strategic implications.
- Creativity and cultural fluency, a feel for what's shifting in culture and category, and the instinct to find a fresh, distinctive angle on the CVP instead of defaulting to convention.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, the emotional intelligence to build trust across Product, Supply, Analytics, and Creative, and get them to act on a shared narrative.
- Great communication skills, able to turn ambiguous strategic input into a clear, actionable plan that people outside the strategy team can build against.
- Program management experience across various functional teams
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English; additional languages are a plus.
Experience Preferred
- 8 years+ Brand strategy experience: meaningful experience in brand strategy, positioning, or narrative development, ideally across multiple brands and markets.
- Agency experience is a plus.
- Experience working with data analytics and insight to direct research and translate insights into brand decisions.
- Senior IC track record, comfort operating as a senior individual contributor with no direct reports — influence here comes from the quality of the thinking, not from headcount.
How we’ll measure impact
- Quality and consistency of our Brand Narrative across the organisation
- Brand health targets defined with leadership and tracked transparently.
- Successful collaboration & influence of internal teams (creative, supply, product, care).
How we’ll make your career journey extraordinary
- Annual personal growth budget and mentorship programs for continuous learning and development
- Work from anywhere in the world for 30 days per year
- A hybrid working approach with three days of in office collaboration (Mon, Tue, Thur) and two days of optional at home focus time.
- Opportunities to collaborate and socialize with team members through quarterly team events and yearly company-wide events
- Monthly transportation and fitness budget
- Discounts for you, your friends, and family on GetYourGuide activities
- Language reimbursement program
- Health and wellness benefits
